Triathlon Performance In Chatham

A Message From Specialist PT, Dr. Tejal Ramaiya, PT, DPT, CSCS

Are you frustrated by training related pain? Are you disappointed because your pain is holding you back from your swim, bike or running workouts?

Years ago, as I worked with my active adults and athletes, I found a common theme in their injuries. When they were injured, they would go to the doctor and were told to stop running, take medication, or have an injection. These were all short term fixes. When they went back to their training after these interventions, the pain came right back. These active adults and athletes were lost and not sure what to do to keep their pain away so they could continue to train. I set out to educate these athletes on making smart decisions about when to train and when to ‘back off’. I have also found that these athletes are not sure what they should be doing to prevent injuries from happening. It has become my mission to keep as many youth athletes and active adults competing at the highest level possible during their races.

You don’t have to sacrifice your training over problems that can be fixed. That’s why we made this free guide just for you.

You see, everyone with training related pain in Chatham asks us the same questions…

Why does my calf pain hurt so much? (I don’t even know what I did…)

Why isn’t this knee pain going away?

Am I going to have to live with hip pain forever?

We have good news: you don’t have to “live with it”. There is still more that can be done and we’re here to show you the way.

Most people get stuck trying to make a decision about what to do next. They go days, weeks, months (even years!) without taking action.

The one thing we can guarantee is that by doing nothing, your pain won’t get better.

So the next important thing is to take action.

At Body Moksha Physical Therapy we’ve created a 3 step process to get rid of your pain AND make sure it doesn’t come back again.

STEP #1 – WE WANT TO LISTEN TO YOUR STORY

Our medical system is frustrating. You wait weeks, sometimes months, for an appointment, only to get to talk to the doctors for 10 minutes before they have to run to the next patient and you’re left sitting there wondering, “What just happened?”

Even most physical therapy clinics operate this way. They’re not attentive, they’re fast-paced, and your therapist doesn’t have time to actually touch where you hurt.

This is why our first step is to listen to your story.

After working with lots of people with training pain, we know that no two people are alike. Each person has a different body, a different history, and different types of pain.

That is why our first step is to have an open conversation and time for you to tell your story. That way we get a deep understanding of what’s going on not just with your body, but also how it’s impacting your life.

STEP #2 – FIND OUT WHY YOUR TRAINING PAIN OR DISCOMFORT STARTED

Many people have a diagnosis, or medical term for what’s going on with their body. Maybe their doctor gave it to them, maybe test rests showed the diagnosis, or maybe you found it online.

You could have been told that your only choice was to rest, use ice and heat, or take pain medicine.

Sometimes, those things bring temporary relief, but they’re not addressing what CAUSED the problem in the first place.

Every person’s cause of training pain and discomfort is different. No one has the exact same problem caused by the exact same thing as another person.

Our goal at Body Moksha Physical Therapy is to find that original cause of your pain, so not only does your pain go away, it STAYS AWAY!

We understand that you still might be skeptical or unsure if physical therapy is right for you. That’s why we created a free taster session. (Yes! That means the first session is ON US!)

Our Taster Sessions are meant specifically for those people who are skeptical, unsure, or have even been let down in the past. During the Taster Session you’ll find out what’s wrong, how long it’s going to take to fix it, and give you peace of mind that your problem can be fixed naturally!

STEP #3 – GET RID OF THE PAIN & KEEP IT FROM COMING BACK

This is when the big transformations occur. We develop a personalized plan that allows you to…

  • Get back to training without fear of your pain coming back
  • Be able to play with your kids, get back to your workouts, etc.
  • Get back to your pre-injury lifestyle you love
  • Step outside to go walk/hike without having to worry about whether or not you can handle the distance/time

Our best patients are those who are motivated and ready to win back their active lifestyle. (Even if they feel stuck right now!)

Want to know more about our availability and costs before making any commitment to coming in?

You don’t have to sacrifice the activities you love over problems that can be fixed.

Sincerely,

Tejal

Working with Dr. Leah has been a great experience to help with my pelvic floor as well as lower back and hip issues from my 2 pregnancies. I was able to feel stronger and more confident through 1:1 care and attention. Tony at the front desk is friendly and helpful. Everyone is professional and caring. I highly recommend Body Moksha Physical Therapy.

I went in to Body Moksha PT because I had a lot of prior sports injuries, but I wasn’t sure if it would even be helpful to get PT because the injuries healed over 2 years ago. I was surprised to learn that my injury had caused my hips to be really weak, and was even affecting my walk and my knees. Tejal is super knowledgeable and personable, and gave me really great workouts that have helped me regain that hip strength. I’ve enjoyed my sessions a lot, and feel confident that I’m in a much better and stronger position to play tennis (and go on hikes and even just work out in general)!
